Central Cee continues to shine

Since we last spoke about Central Cee at the beginning of the year, he’s levelled up again. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights so far.

The artist released the track ‘Me and You’ at the beginning of February, showing his love for someone he may or may not be in a relationship with. Stating to his female lover that there are a lot of perks to being with him, for example, buying him things like handbags and jewellery. Over time, Cench has said that he’s very much a ladies' man and a hopeless romantic. However, at the same time, he told Rolling Stone that he priorities music before relationships, also comparing a relationship to a career as it “takes dedication”. He told Rolling Stone that because he’s “so focused” on his career, he can’t “put too much time into a relationship”.

Cee also spent his first few months of 2023 working with Vogue. Throughout the episode, he was asked a list of questions he doesn’t normally answer, for example, his ethnicity. He opened up and told us that his father is Guyanese and Chinese, with his mother is English. Also talking about taking responsibility in his household, revealing that when he was younger he used to write poetry about what he was feeling at the time, going on to claim that he doesn’t think he’s ever been in love. Cench was then asked about his personal style he said that it was impossible to experiment with his fashion and that he needs to be comfortable all the time.

When Cench released his episode of ‘In The Bag’, he revealed a range of different odd items, one of them being his 23 chain, from his personal jeweller, showing he went number one with the mixtape. However, he went on to state that he wore it a lot last year but claims he’s “Putting it down now” as “It’s had its time”. He also shows off his passport, notebooks, and different headphones he carries around with him. Another item that sticks out is a snack that his mum had given him for Christmas that was hardly touched, following it with the fact he’s too busy to even sit down and chill, letting us all know he’s not seen his mum properly since Christmas. The comments as per usual went crazy, showing a lot of love for the rapper in comments such as “I like his vibe, he’s very calm and seems like he makes people comfortable around him”. On the other hand, Cench left a few comments from people that didn’t really know of his music, such as “Never heard of him but I loved the video. His bag is awesome”.

Cench joined Amelia Dimoldenberg for a valentines special episode of Chicken Shop Date, talking about his type, stating that he wants to be taught something in a relationship, talking about how he thinks that he could be obsessive when having a girlfriend. Alongside all of the awkward comments and nervous smiles, Central Cee talks about his tattoos and favourite lyrics. The comments had fans falling at Cenchs’ feet, for example, “I’m sorry but Central Cee stole my heart in this episode. He’s so adorable I think I’m in love lol”, “I could not stop smiling this whole date. The chemistry was great”, and “Incredible how these episodes introduce these artists to new audiences. I didn’t know who Central Cee was a day ago, today I’ve downloaded all of his music. PR genius move coming on here”.
