Please sit back, relax, and enjoy. Make sure you go over to CHROMES' page and stream the fuck out of this project, show him some love. Thank you.

Welcome back, Finn! For anyone who missed our last work together, please could you re-introduce yourself?

In short, I’m an ADHD riddled 20-year-old. Living in the South West my music started about four years ago. I got my first mic and was recording the worst sentences on the worst beats. This happened because I had a crazy hyper-focus on a Nav album and thought I was about to change rap in 30 minutes. I didn’t. I rhymed car with car 4 times! A few years after I created TASM. TASM was a little project to document my improvement. Now I’m here with my mini studio on my desk (stacked with fidget spinners) at 20 creating music for money.

Who is TASM, what did that character do for you?

The original idea with TASM was to have fun whilst learning the art and to see what worked for me. It kind of was my side project, almost a warm-up for CHROMES. I'll always keep TASM close to me though. All of the community it introduced me to is incredible and all of the song improvements throughout. It's the perfect phase of the movement.

How best would you describe who CHROMES is?

No matter how I word this, it's always the same. CHROMES is me. Unlike TASM, CHROMES stands for more than fun music. This music represents me. CHROMES is not just a name but more. I want this project to show anyone can be anything. Time, hard work, and losses, it shape you. The last time I answered this question I answered in a few words "Watch and see" This movement and rebrand will change my life and everyone who works with me. We gonna swag out.

Would you say that TASM was a 'fake' version of you?

Not fake no, I still put my soul into it. It just wasn't the move. It was 100 genres crunched into 1. It was a complete experiment.

For sure, how would you describe the genre CHROMES is going for?

Two words. Genre breaking.

Would you say CHROMES has no boundaries?

We have boundaries of course. But boundaries are made to be pushed and stretched. My music feels like finding money on the floor. You don't quite understand it, yet you're damn glad you found it.

And personally, what does it mean for you to be loved and appreciated as CHROMES?

Everything. Every message is appreciated, and every stream, and every ounce of love shown to me makes my day. No one is on this wave near me. And, to see how many people want to get involved now is crazy. I can tell this is where I'm meant to be.

Absolutely, what was life like growing up for you as Finn?

I was originally born in Sussex but then moved shortly after to Devon. I've spent my whole life here, it's a sound place to spend your younger years but it tends to become a struggle around your twenties. There's a lack of stuff to do, you grow old with your surroundings. Then later on in my life, my mum was diagnosed with a brain tumor and it felt like my world crumbled. Standing next to her after her twelve-hour surgery, I realised, it was my time to dial in and make sure she gets the life she deserves after what she's been through.

That's some serious stuff, I'm sorry to hear that. Do you think it's easier to make music with experiences you've had growing up, in comparison to maybe just freestyling and making up lyrics?

Yeah totally. Sometimes I drive to cliffs and fields with all my equipment and record in my car, just for the peace of mind and scenery I'm very lucky in that retrospect.

There are always some kind of perks to living on the coast, is Devon somewhere you always want to live?

Currently, no. I'm just looking to get closer to all my connections. I'm trying to move to London, however, as I get older and create my own family, I can see myself in Devon but I'm just trying to escape at the moment.

I get that completely when growing musically, was it easy to form a community?

It wasn't hard but it wasn't easy, you get what you put into it. The hardest part was finding media. Then Beth came along and changed everything. She's family now. Plus my clique at home made the connections easier. Never rush family, choose carefully otherwise it'll be another round table incident.

For real. That's how you build man. What would you say to ten-year-old you as you right now?

Don't worry, trust yourself. And don't trust her.

Where do you find yourself the most creative?

Normally when I'm at work. I'm always writing, and crafting on myself. When I'm in the studio though, I'm a different man. Almost a spirit takes over and I cook like Ramsey.

What would you say to someone who needs a creative boost?

Take a break. Nothing good is made in a rush. Experience something new. A new film, a new environment. Put yourself where you shouldn't be and then you will realise what you need to do to get where you should be.

Love that. What's 2024 looking like for you?

Full. Collaborations are planned in and out of the country. Hopefully rock out a show in my local, for the people.

Is that a tour hint?

Blow me up and you'll see.

What would you say your biggest challenge is changing from TASM to CHROMES?

People have stopped believing me. They think because I haven't dropped in a while the dreams are over. It hasn't even begun yet. The title of my upcoming project is "BELIEVE/LEAVE", they are your two options when it comes to me.

That's a proper cool concept. Do you have a message for anyone who doesn't believe in your craft?

If you don't believe, leave.

What does this album mean to you?

This project is a big medley of songs where I've listened back and gone "damn this me for real?". I've created the fuse between supertrap and sexy music. It's a medley of music to get the women shaking what they got and the same for dudes I guess.

And how important is it that his album is taken in by your fans?

It's not even taking in. I just wanna see them having fun with it. Create TikToks, I just wanna see them enjoy it.

For sure! What are your favourite tracks on the album, and why?

My number one has to be "OY!". I remember the atmosphere when creating the song was crazy. I just met the prettiest girl and she's the reason that song exists.

I hope she sees it man. Can we expect any features?

You can. I ain't dropping names yet, but I'm gonna be on the radar for real.

How many songs can we expect to see?

Anywhere towards four. Not giving you my best yet.

Do you have any reason for that?

A lot of this project was recorded when I was inexperienced. I've gotten older, my swags changed, and I've grown as an artist. I'm actually two albums ahead and they keep getting better.

And, are we seeing any music videos?

Currently editing the "LOSE YOUR MIND" video. I've also got videos planned for a few others, just finding the time at the moment.

Can't wait for this album, for real! CHROMES forever. Do you have anything you want to say for anyone supporting and streaming the album?

I would like to say thank you. This is only the beginning, so prepare your ears and soul for the next year. Love.
