French The Kid needs his flowers

French The Kid is currently paving the way for all bilingual rappers across the UK as we get an Essex twang as he raps about coming from a bad living status and connections with Irish traveler communities while switching it up into his melodic French speaking sound to give us a whole lot of storytelling. Telling CLASH that he feels music found him when he needed it the most, wanting to make people happy and comfortable in their own skin.

We first heard parts of mixtape "No Signal" back in October 2022 with single "White Wine" of which is now just under two million views on YouTube with a bunch of positive comments underneath, some reading things like "Everything this guy touches turns to gold. One of the best artist in the UK right now 100%", and "I'm obsessed with French's sound. Never been ordinary top three of my fav albums this year". We then went on to release "Snow" in December and got slept on via YouTube with under a million views, however, his fans keep feeding him the appreciation he deserves as the comments are again filled with things like "French is definitely one of the hardest in the UK scene!! The clarity, delivery, wordplay, and intelligence is on another level and he deserves to be touring the world", and "This guy is unreal. Every track is a vibe. Man is only dropping fire".

However, the mixtape was only announced after the release of "Single Player" via Instagram on March 2nd with the caption reading "Single player OUT NOW! I'm also excited to announce my new mixtape “No signal” is available to pre order from now. This ones very different and I promise it won’t disappoint. Serious work on this tape and I can’t wait for you lot to hear it. Link in my bio to pre order the tape NOW". The roll out that followed this post consisted of a European tour announcement and various interviews across social media platforms.

"No Signal" features eighteen hot tracks, full of different sound and various messages for his listeners. For example, he told broke down his tracks with Apple Music and when speaking on track "Quiet Kid", the rapper had said that it was written for all of those quiet kids out there that are finding their voice to just do it, a positive message to believe in yourself and forget about what the haters are saying. The track was created with Chucks and build around "skippy flows". Another example of a different sounding track is "Insanity" as he had said that the track always reminds him of the music he was listening to growing up, speaking about his brother throughout the track, he stated that his brother loves that sound so it's also him paying homage.
