PinkPantheress taking over the charts

2001 born, Victoria Beverly Walker was born in Bath and later moved to Kent with her family as she grew up. Walker took piano lessons as a child and was able to sing at her school talent shows, becoming a lead singer in a rock band at just fourteen. She covered songs by Paramore, Green Day, and My Chemical Romance. The name 'PinkPantheress' came from her liking for the film 'Pink Panther', as it came to making a username on social media, 'Pantheress' was taken. She then decided to put the word pink in front, forming PinkPantheress.

Walker had started writing her own music while in high school as she helped her friend. To produce instrumentals, she began to use GarageBand and later used the software to make her own earlier songs. As most artists do, she started to upload original tracks to SoundCloud before they receive huge followings, for example, Doja Cat and most UK rappers. Going on to upload a snippet of her track "Just a Waste", for it to go viral across the platform, however, the track never got uploaded to YouTube but there are various copies and remixes online.

January 2021 saw the release of "Pain" as it went viral on TikTok, peaking at number thirty-five on the UK Singles Charts in August, months after the release. Going on to release other tracks "Break It Off" and "Passion" led to the upcoming star getting signed to Parlophone, a German-British record label. A year later she also signed to Elektra Records, an American record label owned by Warner Music Group. That year in June the star dropped visuals for "Break It Off", followed by a new snippet of the track "Just for Me", which gained a lot of attention online, being released in August with a video being released a month later, of which she co-directed. The hit became her second top forty chart entry on the UK Singles Chart. Towards the end of 2021, PinkPantheress released a date and title for her debut mixtape, titled "To Hell with It" released on October 15th. The mixtape debuted at number twenty in the UK Album Charts.

In October 2021, Central Cee released the track "Obsessed With You" which sampled "Just for Me", becoming one of Cenchs' biggest tracks to date as it has over ninety-two million YouTube views alone. The track reached number four in the charts and stayed in the charts for twenty-one weeks after release.

At the start of 2022, Walker was announced the winner of BBC's Sound of 2022 via a fan-voted poll. During January, a remix album was released for "To Hell with It" alongside a Brit Award for 'Song of the Year' for "Obsessed With You" with Central Cee. Through the rest of 2022, the star went on a European tour for her mixtape and placed a lot of features over the months, as well as opening for Halsey on her American leg of the "Love and Power" tour.

The artist was then seen releasing "Boy's a Liar" in October 2022, followed by part two of the track in February 2023, with none other than Ice Spice. This track went global and was an unescapable track for the whole month, especially on the video platform TikTok. The track charted on Billboard Hot 100 at number four.
