We take a look back at some of the most popular songs from March and rate them from one to five in terms of our genuine opinions of the songs. Talking all things real rap with ArrDee, not giving any bad energy to Digga D, becoming a Nicki fan and discovering new artists.

5. Red Ruby Da Sleeze

This is a newer entry from SCOOP this month as we've never really been Nicki fans but we've been listening to a lot of her work this month, so it's only right we put her latest track in the rankings this month. This track is all about her close connections to gang members and exploiting violence, with a few bars containing puns, for example, "Big trucks but I'm alone like Post though (Uh-oh, uh-oh) Call Malone and tell him I'm goin' postal (Brr)", being a play on words referencing Post Malone and Karl Malone as his nickname was "the Mailman", linking the line "goin' postal". We will be continuing to listen to Nicki Minaj - let us know which tracks we need to listen to.

4. Energy

This track had TikTok on strings this month as it was the hottest audio to be used the whole way through March. The artist has said he needs to "protect his energy", removing all of the fakes from his life, speaking on wanting to be more mature despite his old ways. We also saw a shot fired at Central Cee in the chorus "Can't rap about beef, or streets, so they rap about (Nashville)", being something Cench had rapped about in previous tracks. We love the fact that Digga is trying to bring back the beef in the music scene as this is definitely something we need to see more of in the scene.

3. Home For My Heart

ArrDee released this track with Cat Burns this month with his heartfelt rap about not having a place for his heart. We love this side of rappers when they feel they can talk about real problems rather than girls and money, like many typical rap tracks. We particularly love the two verses ArrDee presented us with, for example, in his first verse he talks about how hard he's worked to get to the position he is currently in. We love hearing about ArrDee's come-up story, with an effortless chorus from Cat Burns, it's a very elite song for us this month.

2. Better than I?

We need to put you on to Shakes, one of the BL@CKBOX cypher favourites. He's been trying to break into the scene since the cypher dropped back in December, dropping his single 'Better than I?' in March, previewing the track on Instagram. The preview got people talking, for example, grime legend D Double E commented 'Next up', and Wretch32 with 'My bumberclart G'. The star then went on to upload different copies of classic locations and tracks from the scene, for example, Dave track 'Hangman' was shot in what looks to be an estate, Shakes then went to the exact same location and rapped his own bars from this track, sharing them to Instagram, this consisted of five different copies, be sure to check them out. We love what Shake has achieved and done with this song, and for that it's only right we place it second.

1. Chase Money Season (Asthma)

44Certii is next up and deserves a huge following. We discovered this legend only a few weeks ago but we're obsessed with his latest track and we've been singing it ever since our first listen. The way the track is so catchy and effortless to listen to is so refreshing as it's not something we hear a lot of in the scene at the moment. Be sure to check it out and help 44Certii break into the scene.
