Homerton rapper, Unknown T is known by his loved ones as Daniel Lena and has been making music since the age of eighteen in 2017. He is now known as a very talented rapper here in the UK and is very versatile in his musical ability. Here at SCOOP, we’ve looked at his discography, picking out some of our favourites from Unknown T and putting them in an order. Be sure to tell us your favourite tracks in the comments below and what you would like to see from Unknown T.

5. GLEE ft. Digga D

When we listen to Unknown T, we quickly learn that he’s better when he’s got a feature, this could be a bad thing but on this track, it’s completely the opposite. The way he leaves the chorus to Digga is so clever because when it comes to the other verses, T is able to show what he’s really about, telling us all about his experience on the roads, for example, “pop off a block, fuck a leg day”, and “I see a man bored up, get tek way, helicopters in the air, plus red tape”. After T finishes each verse, Digga comes in with this effortless, singing vibe for the chorus and it just makes the rest of the track better and for that reason, it has to be in our top five.

4. Sweet Lies

This is such a different sound of music from such a highly-liked rapper as you don’t hear many experimenting with singing like T has here. The track itself is just beautiful from the beat selection to the bars he’s singing to his switch up to lightly rapping. Although he is talking about lying to his significant other, it’s so easy to ignore the deeper meaning as he comes with this swagger that is hard to look past. We feel this track doesn’t get replayed as much as it should, as it’s surrounded by more ‘aggressive’ tracks in comparison to this gem and is placed in the center of the tape.

3. Leave Dat Trap ft. AJ Tracey

An old but gold track from T as it’s exactly this drill rap track we needed in this list. Featuring AJ Tracey was such a good choice too due to his pen game, especially back when it was released in June 2019, being the last track before T was arrested. And he left us with a hit while he was gone before being released and dropping ‘Rise Above Hate’. His deep voice and catchy chorus really sold this song as he follows the chorus with a verse straight away before passing the spotlight over to Tracey, letting him show off his rhyming abilities. The beat also helps this track a lot due to the base being so deep and powerful on full volume, which is what we love to hear in a track.

2. Goodems

Unknown T really knows what he’s doing when making a heartfelt hit, letting everyone know he was also heavily influenced by Tupac's hit ‘Me & My Girlfriend”. The use of sounds he uses throughout this song is very clever as he lets his adlibs and background sounds describe what he’s trying to say when he says things like “I would’ve put it all in a bruk like ‘boduff, wouduff” when talking about his sexual interests in his relationships. The rest of his verses are very monotone and makes it sound so simple for T as it’s just like he’s talking to a mate in an off-microphone conversation. Whilst talking about his significant others he is still able to talk about his real life outside of music letting us know about his experiences with ‘C.I.D’ standing for Criminal Investigation Department, telling the world in the bar “I’m so fluent, I dodged that bullet”. We think this track is so cold so it’s only right it takes second place.

1 Wonderland ft. M Huncho

Unknown T and M Huncho have teamed up to make one of T’s best songs to date, being our number one spot. Before listening you just know it’s going to go off just with these two coming together. The pair talk a lot about the word ‘magazine’ being an international magazine about music and fashion called ‘Wonderland Magazine’ of which Huncho had featured a few years back. The use of the word ‘magazine’ is also used in the same bar in the context of a firearm, showing the pair live double lives. We think the meaning behind this track is so sick to hear and we can also understand that they believe to be above everyone else, as leading figures in bars such as “Middle fingers to the paigons, I see dust behind me”, and “Don’t chat ‘bout my name round yats, I’m a superstar”. We can wholeheartedly say that this is our favourite track from Unknown T and will continue to have a very secure place in our playlist.
