Chunkz had started his online career in 2015 via YouTube as he started uploading Fifa videos with his friends. As time went on, Chunkz started to post vlogs, different challenges, and rap battles, moving on to Q&A videos and things that were trending at the time, for example, trying American snacks and lyric text pranks. Throughout the videos, Chunkz would bring his friends along to get involved, who we now know as Sharky, Darkest Man, and AJ Shabeel.
When speaking with The Guardian, Chunkz had said that the scariest day of his life was when he had to tell his parents that he wanted to drop out of university to focus on his YouTube channel as he felt he would be letting his parents down and that his parents would then not accept him.
In 2017, Micheal Dapaah came on the scene as 'Big Shaq', releasing the track 'Man's Not Hot' with Chunkz featuring in one of the videos as a character called Asznee, this gained him a fair bit of following and recognition. After this video was released, American YouTuber Wolfieraps made a diss track towards Chunkz's character, leading the two to go head to head in a few diss tracks posted online, boosting Chunkz as he then saw a rise in video views as his diss track received just over seven million views. At the time this wasn't something Chunkz would have seen before as his videos usually got around six hundred thousand views. After this, Chunkz then collaborated with MiniMinter and his views then spiked again, receiving just over a million videos. This then carried over on to the next video as Chunkz joined with Darkest Man and AJ to release a prank call video as they would call different fast food restaurant chains, this video then resulted in nearly two million views. In 2017, we also started to see Chunkz collab with Yung Filly, a fellow social media star on the rise at the time, we then saw a lot more of Filly throughout his videos, which made his views rise and stay consistent. Chunkz was also clearly very good at rapping and singing throughout his time on YouTube so far. This led to the start of a music career as he went on to make a song with Neji with the track 'Vibranium'.
As 2019 came around, Chunkz moved out to a mansion, revealing that he had joined a YouTube group called Beta Squad with his friends Niko Omalina, King Kenny, Sharky, and AJ Shabeel, posting a video online of a tour in the new place. The comments are now flooded with lovely messages, telling the star how much he deserves the position he was then given. After joining Beta Squad, Chunkz has become less consistent with his personal channel as he then only released another three videos for the rest of that year, all of which have over a million views. The following year, Chunkz dropped a video for the 'Vibranium' track that now sits on nine million views.
As of 2020, Chunkz started to gain more fame outside of the YouTube scene, as he was seen face timing footballers like Sterling. Chunkz then became a part of Soccer Aid along with his good friend Yung Filly. On the day of the charity event, Chunkz had missed a very important free kick and became a meme across all media platforms, which he now jokingly claims was the worst day of his life. Chunkz then went back to the event in 2021 and again in 2022 alongside the likes of Usain Bolt, Mark Noble, Lee Mack, and Sir Mo Farah.
In 2020, Chunkz also won a MOBO for best entertainer while co-presenting the award show with Maya Jama.
When talking with The Guardian about Beta Squad, Chunkz had said that they're "all like brothers who all happen to be YouTubers" and that on camera the chemistry is unmatched. Chunkz is also heavily religious and shows it across platforms, leading him to make a decision to quit music and be closer to God as he had said that he had "to stop for the sake of God". Social Media couldn't have supported Chunkz any more than they already did, especially over on Twitter, Chunkz had then said the support was not what he had expected but was the best reaction he could have asked for.
Chunkz is a very clean-hearted online superstar that just wants to make his parents and everyone around him smile and keep succeeding to make TV shows and move into film, with the sky being the limit. Chunkz is now the host of the Channel 4 cooking show 'Secret Sauce' as he brings in a famous guest to recreate a family favourite recipe.
As we write this, Chunkz has two million seven hundred thousand subscribers on YouTube and three million six thousand Instagram followers. continuing to grow every day. We are very excited to see what Chunkz has in his locker for the rest of the year.
